Career
Ex holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics, with a specialization in Computational Science and Engineering, from Delft University of Technology, completed in 2017.[3]
Ex began his career with a data science internship at Deliveroo from 2016 to 2017. He subsequently worked as a data engineering intern at Enjins from 2018 to 2019. He then joined Uber, first as a data analyst intern in Global Strategy and Planning from 2019 to 2020, and then as a data science intern in Global Intelligence in 2020.[4]
From 2022 to 2024, Ex worked as a machine learning engineer at Soda Data, a data quality platform. In 2024, he co-founded Minimal AI alongside Niek Hogenboom.[5]
Minimal AI
Minimal AI provides AI-powered agents designed specifically for e-commerce brands to handle customer support. The platform enables businesses to build and manage AI support teams that the company states can resolve over 90% of customer support tickets while also contributing to revenue generation.[6] The company's product is accessible through its website at gominimal.ai.[7]
The company was accepted into Y Combinator's Summer 2025 batch and is based in San Francisco, California. In connection with the batch, Minimal AI raised $3.6 million in seed funding from Y Combinator and customers, a milestone Ex announced publicly in early 2025.[8] Y Combinator described Minimal AI as building "the AI manager for e-commerce support tickets," highlighting the platform's positioning as an autonomous support management layer rather than a simple chatbot.[9]
