Jiehua Wu is a Germany-based entrepreneur and software engineer who is the co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Comena, a startup that develops artificial intelligence agents to automate order entry for industrial distributors and manufacturers. The company was accepted into Y Combinator's Summer 2025 (S25) batch.[1]

Career

Before founding Comena, Wu held several roles in the technology and startup sectors. He was the first sales hire at askLio, a procurement startup that participated in Y Combinator's Summer 2023 batch. He also served as a product manager at Pina Earth, a climate technology company from Y Combinator's Winter 2022 cohort. Earlier in his career, Wu worked as a software engineer at Google in Switzerland; according to his own account, he was the youngest software engineer at the company's Swiss office at the time of his employment.[2]

Wu holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Business from the Technical University of Munich.

Comena

Wu co-founded Comena alongside Almo Sutedjo, who serves as the company's chief technology officer (CTO). The company is headquartered in Munich, Germany, and comprised a two-person founding team as of its Y Combinator S25 listing in early 2026.[3]

Comena's platform addresses inefficiencies in the order processing workflows of industrial distributors and manufacturers. The company's AI-based system automates the extraction of order information from various document formats, including PDFs, emails, spreadsheets, and handwritten notes. The extracted data is then matched to the correct products in a distributor's catalog and integrated into the company's enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Wu has demonstrated the system's capability in processing purchase orders that present particular challenges to automated recognition, including degraded or non-standard document formats.[4]

According to the company, the product is designed to reduce the time inside sales teams spend on manual data entry between email inboxes and ERP systems, allowing staff to focus on customer acquisition and relationship management. Comena also offers automated request-for-quotation (RFQ) matching, enabling distributors to process tenders and large product lists more efficiently. The company positions its product as a response to labour shortages in the industrial distribution sector, where employee retirement can result in the loss of institutional knowledge and where onboarding new staff can take years.[5]
