Carol Miller is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for West Virginia's 3rd congressional district. A member of the Republican Party, she serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, where she has been active on issues ranging from tax policy and trade to health care and Internal Revenue Service oversight.[1]

Congressional career

Miller serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, one of Congress's most influential panels, which has jurisdiction over tax policy, trade, Social Security, Medicare, and other revenue-related matters. Through her committee work, she has participated in hearings examining the operations of the Internal Revenue Service, including oversight of the agency's chief executive.[2] She has also taken part in Ways and Means hearings focused on working families' tax cuts and the annual tax filing season.[3]

On health care, Miller has participated in Ways and Means subcommittee hearings examining workforce shortages in the American health care system, reflecting West Virginia's ongoing challenges with access to medical services in rural communities.[4]

Trade policy

Miller has engaged actively on international trade issues on behalf of her constituents. She formally urged U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer to address what she characterized as South Korea's discriminatory treatment of American digital trade, calling on the administration to take action against barriers that disadvantage U.S. businesses operating in the South Korean digital marketplace.[5]
